Susan Acosta, LCSW


Susan has over 25 years experience in various substance abuse programs and 15 years in commercial banking and real estate. She obtained a BS from Empire State College, focusing on fiscal management and Community/Human Services. As Assistant Branch Manager of Bankers Trust NY; Assistant Comptroller of the Mental Health Association of Ulster County and formally licensed NYS real estate salesperson, she brings a wealth of experience in fiscal management and budgetary oversight.

After obtaining her MSW from the Hunter College School of Social Work she began focusing on work in substance abuse treatment and prevention programs. For over 25 years she has used her experience to design and facilitate substance abuse treatment and prevention programs for populations that include adolescents, court-mandated clients, Dually-diagnosed, and the elderly. Susan was the designated HIPPA Compliance Officer and Quality Assurance/Utilization Review Manager for several state licensed substance abuse programs. She is a prior member of the NYS OASAS Program Advisory Work Group, NYS Administrative/Regulatory Review Work Program/ NYS OASAS Integrated Quality Systems Work Group, RC Ward/Blaisdell Addiction Treatment Centers Advisory Board and prior co-chair of the NYS OASAS Quality Improvement/Management Work Group. She developed the "Choices and Consequences" program for court-mandated adolescents and is a successful grant writer for the Hudson Valley Foundation for Youth Health, NYS Department of Corrections and the NYS Division for Youth.
